About the club

The club was founded in 1979. For the last five seasons we have been champions of the Moonraker League. Our head coach is Nikki Lloyd.

We have over 70 senior club members and 60 plus juniors. For the 2012/13 season we will have six teams in the Moonraker League, and matches take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Devizes Leisure Centre.  We also have a team which plays on Saturdays in the Swindon and District Netball League, which plays at Dorcan on Saturday mornings.  The junior club, from Years 5 to 8, take part in the Moonraker Junior League during the year.

Training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Devizes Leisure Centre.  Juniors train during term time on Mondays from 6-7pm at the outdoor courts.  Senior training is split - for more information on this please click here.

In 2007 the club was awarded its Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) award, and was reaccredited in 2011.  CAPS is aligned to the Sport England Clubmark accreditation scheme. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs with junior sections operate to a set, consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. Clubs achieving this accreditation are recognised nationally as having a well run club which is active and accessible.

Bronze CAPS is the first level, incorporating the Clubmark criteria covering the areas of Safeguarding and protecting children and young people, quality coaching and officiating, competition, talent development, sports equality and good management.

The club hosts the Moonraker Summer League and is also the driving force behind the success of Kennet’s school netball, having run the flourishing primary schools’ high five league at the Leisure Centre for several years.  We also run popular junior and senior tournaments in June every year.

New members are always welcome.  Many of us returned to netball we last played at school after years out.  It is not only an enjoyable way of keeping fit, but also of making new friends.

Devizes Netball Club is committed to providing a safe and positive atmosphere for all young players. We follow the England Netball guidelines in regard to safeguarding young people. All adults working with the junior club as well as all our coaches hold a CRB clearance.
